Accessibility statement
Last updated: 25/10/2026
We want everyone to be able to use lathecalculator.co.uk, including people who use a screen reader, keyboard only, magnification or high-contrast settings. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This is our aim, not a claim of full conformance: the site has not yet been independently audited.
What we have done
- Calculator inputs have visible labels, and on most calculators the results are announced to screen readers as they change.
- The site works with a keyboard alone, with a “skip to content” link and visible focus outlines.
- Text can be zoomed to 200% and pages reflow on narrow screens. There is a dark mode, and the site follows your device’s light or dark setting.
- Warnings are written out in words, not shown by colour alone.
- There are no time limits, pop-ups, autoplaying media or flashing content.
Known limitations
- Some diagrams and the G-code viewer’s toolpath plot are drawings. Where possible their meaning is also given in text, but a screen reader user may not get everything a sighted user does from the plot.
- Some large reference tables are wide and need sideways scrolling on a phone.
- We haven’t yet tested the site with every screen reader and browser combination.
